The Platinum Rainbow: How to Succeed in the Music Business Without Selling Your Soul
Published in Paperback by NTC/Contemporary Publishing (July, 1988)
Authors: Bob Monaco and James Riordan
Average review score:

A musicians instruction manual
I read the book in the Mid 80's while living in California and saw all of the myths that I thought were just that myths come to light out of the dark. This book is slimmer that the most of them but contains everything you need. "A musicians instruction manual."

A book for aspiring musicians.
Absolutely fantastic. Gives the honest truth about the business today. Any person in the music business should read this.

Awesome
This book is a God-send to all aspiring musicians. Gives you insight on everything from getting small-time gigs to recording to making it big.

Universal Cards: Angelically Inspired
Published in Cards by Angelstar (September, 1997)
Authors: Juliet Jaffray Hubbs and Nora Monaco
Average review score:

Universal Cards
These cards can answer questions and give daily inspiration.

These cards speak with wisdom.... they are amazing
I have used lots of different tarot decks, runes etc. This deck is amazing becasue of the depth of the instructional book and that it uncovers underlying emotional and spiritual issues.

Messages On Target
May you find your comfort and guidance here. People who aren't necessarily 'religious' may be put off or apprehensive about this angelically inspired deck...don't be! They are spiritual based cards. Every reading with these has been full of impact and what message needed to be conveyed. This can be a really healing deck whether you pull a card for meditation each day or do a complete spread as detailed. It is a positive deck. Words such as serenity, trust, love, validation, flow, gratitude, magic, are expanded upon in terms of meaning for self, relationships with others, and life in the spiral bound book. Easy to use and read. And a nice change from picture tarot decks that explain the symbolism and meaning of every picture and sometimes get bogged down. A nice tool for persons in recovery, or dealing with any life challenges.

Lost in a Florida Disappearing from Sight
A tremendously funny and sad came-of-age narrative that recalls the hearty, chaotic family fictions of Richard Russo and Ralph Lombreglia, with the cold steel screams of Thom Jones or Denis Johnson lurking in the basement. Sheppard is a pitiless observer of all the foibles that make up the wasted lives of the small among us, yet he arranges these bits of madness in graceful, unexpected forms.

What the hell was that?
"Midnight in Monaco" is a screwball Florida fairy tale. It's a frolic through a kitschy circus-flavored world where lawyers are also tarot card readers and Ninja assassins; where a red-headed dwarf shouts "Auto Zone!" every morning; and where the sun pops up over the horizon "like a banana-flavored Moon Pie."

The characters--including a grill cook philosopher insomniac, a con man who schemes to freeze his wife's head after her death so she can live in future times, and a grandmother (called "Grandmom") who is retired from the circus where she had a knife-toss-at-little-doggies-act--are so vigorously eccentric that you shake your head and ask yourself, "What the hell was that?"

The Movie Guide

Authors: James Pallot, James Movie Guide Monaco, and Cinebooks
Average review score:

Essential Reference for Film Lovers
This volume, along with Katz's, The Film Encyclopedia, are the foundation of celluloid information. The two will be sufficient for most viewers. Saw a movie and what to know more? Planning to rent a video and what to know more? Look here. Not all movies are reviewed, but almost every important film, some sleepers, some low-budget gems, and some you may hate but are important within film history. Our 1995 edition is worn out, and I wish we had a 'cover' for this one; that's how often we refer to this. We have also use it to build our own film library, now numbering over 500. Directors, actors, Academy Awards, obscure information and the source - whether book, play or original screenplay are all included. Now, if they had only included "The Reivers" and "Sometimes a Great Notion!"

Great guide for the discerning movie fan
This is hands down the single best reference for films from the 1930s on. Detailed reviews of works that are deserving of them, with sharp analysis that puts films in their proper historical context.

My Book of Flowers
Published in Hardcover by Doubleday (October, 1980)
Author: Princess of Monaco Grace
Average review score:

From The Dust Jacket
Her Serene Highness, Princess Grace of Monaco, is recognized as an international judge of flowers. Having initiated the Garden Club of Monaco over ten years ago, Princess Grace also conducted classes in floral arrangement. Her knowledge and skill in this area soon evolved into an interest in pressed flower arrangements.

In this book, richly illustrated with artwork and lavish color photography, Princess Grace now shares her knowledge and sense of floral asthetics with beauty lovers everywhere. She discloses the secrets of flower pressing, discussing both materials needed and her own simple techniques for achieving some unique and enduring arrangements. Princess Grace suggests the place of flowers in art, literature, poetry, mythology, ballet, and opera, offering many practical uses for flowers and herbs, as beauty aids, home remedies, culinary treats, sachets, potpourris, and perfumes.

The result is a book that captures a sense of the timelessness of flowers - a book to enchant the eye and ravish the spirit. From Monaco's multihued roses to the delicate edelweiss growing on the crags of the nearby Alps, Princess Graces has looked into the very heart of these flowers, where she found in the intricate loveliness of nature a symbol of creation and the beauty of life.

My Book of Flowers
A wonderful book. I tracked down a used one years ago and now I've really worn it out. Princess Grace doesn't just touch on the surface of flower arranging and gardening, but goes into depth about old recipes using flowers, myths, legends, art and even explores some of the most beautiful gardens on the Riviera. I only wish she had included more photos of the flower pictures she created. There is quite a variety of content here and it is a joy to read.

A Stunning and Graceful Book
I loved Grace Kelly as an actress--and no doubt she would have won many more accolades had she not married Prince Rainier. However, this book, a final overture of her talents, beauty, and, yes, grace, are all here in this book, which she wrote just a few short years before she died. I know this book is out of print, but for Gracephiles out there--IT IS WORTH TRACKING IT DOWN. This book is an excellent coffee table book. And it is pure enjoyment from start to end. This book is a treasure in any collection!!!

Creatine and Other Natural Muscle Boosters
Published in Paperback by Dell Pub Co (01 December, 1999)
Authors: Terry Malloy and Robert Monaco
Average review score:

If you don't know this is the book that you need
Finally a book that explains how supplements work. Very easy to read, this book explains in detail how creatine works and how it should be used. There is more truthful supplementation information in this book than I have found in muscle magizines in the past three years. Anyone who wants to try supplements needs to read this book first to get an edge on companies who sell low grade products.

Creatine: Explained
This book was very informative about the good and bad effects of creatine and other muscle enhancers. I think that this is a good book for the serious or not too serious weight lifter. Very clear and straight to the point.

The Encyclopedia of Film
Published in Hardcover by Perigee (June, 1991)
Author: James Monaco
Average review score:

We need a new edition of this book!
This book evaluates the work of a great many film artists (actors, directors, editors, etc.) and lists their every movie chronologically. I refer to my 1991 edition constantly, but we need a new edition. What are chances we'll see one?

Excellent - when can we get a new revision?
This is the best movie guide we've found (and we're on our 3rd).You can look up information by actor. It puts Leonard Maltin's Movie and Video Guide to shame (which is weak on information by actor). I wish the author would come out with an updated version. We'd be first in line to buy it.

In the beginning, Ms. kirk's book was harder to believe than a Hollywood fantasy but as you race towards finding out what happens you know the wildest things are possible and do happen.

Pure Serendipity, and a wealth/health of succinct wisdom.

Written for women but strong enough for a man. Suspend your doubts and read it!

Grace
Published in Hardcover by Putnam Pub Group (September, 1994)
Author: Robert Lacey
Average review score:

great book
This book has a great deal of detail. I feel as if there was too much emphasis on her sex life versus her screen image, and frankly that was her business, not important in the book. Otherwise a good book.

Amazing Grace
I picked up "Grace" about a year ago when I found it in my mom's old book closet. Although I am relatively young, something about the stars of yesteryear attracts me more than the glitz surrounding contemporary celebrities. Grace Kelly is no exception. I knew nothing about this icon, except that she was an American princess and a Hitchcockian heroine. Mr. Lacey certainly did his share in informing me about this classic movie star. I enjoyed how he provides us with immense background on the Kelly's, a prominent family in their own right. Mr. Lacey also does a fine job in giving us the "low-down" on Monaco and its interesting history.
Also of note would be the fact that Lacey attempts (and succeeds) at presenting the seemingly ethereal Grace as a person, not the sex symbol or ice queen she is usually remembered as. He does give a lot of insight into her love life and various affairs, but you never lose sight that Grace had this innocence about her. It seemed as if she could do no wrong.
Aside from being a talented actress, Grace was a true beauty and a dedicated mother and wife. She will always be remembered as our very own princess.

It Told Me Just What I Wanted to Know About Her
I wanted to know all about the men in Grace Kelley's life, both before and after her marriage. This book told me everything, but in a classy, well-researched way. I learned a lot about Monaco, and just the things I would have wanted to know about her family members, too. After reading this excellent book, I plan to read more of Robert Lacey's works.

Grace Kelly: A Life in Pictures
Published in Hardcover by Metro Books (October, 1998)
Author: Jenny Curtis
Average review score:

A Thoughty Picture Book
Jenny Curtis' "Grace Kelly: A Life in Pictures" is a must for Grace fans. Lovely reproductions of some of Kelly's most enchanting photos fill the book. It is a pleasant addition to any collection, and it is exactly what it is entitled, a life in pictures...nothing more and yet, nothing less.

The loveliest Grace book
This is simply the best Grace book I've ever seen. Wonderful and the most complete. Very highly recommended to all!

A great book about a great lady
Lovely pictures and interesting text make this book well worth buying. It showcases Grace's life from early childhood to her untimely death.
